Booked a holiday to Ibiza? Then you’ve undoubtedly seen many photos of beautiful beaches and lovely coves. I have been coming to this wonderful island for years for business and pleasure. We do many photoshoots here and often enjoy all those beautiful beaches and coves with friends and family. There are about 50 of them, and we’ve seen them all, so we confidently say which we think are the most beautiful and nicest beaches on Ibiza. So here it is, the list of the top 10 beaches on Ibiza that we find the most beautiful, fun, and lively. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been here before but haven’t seen everything yet, these 10 beaches should definitely be on your Ibiza Bucketlist! On Ibiza, Playa refers to a somewhat larger beach and Cala to a small cove, handy to know if you’re driving around the island by car or scooter.

1. Playa Ses Salines
This is always our big favorite! A wonderfully wide sandy beach with crystal clear water, a beautiful white sandy beach, and rugged rock formations. We regularly use Salinas Beach as a photoshoot location. At this beach, you’ll find beach clubs like Malibu, the Jockey Club, and Sa Trinxa. Rent a sunbed at the beach clubs and enjoy being served, or go old school; lying on a beach towel with your feet in the sand. Salinas Beach is full of fun, with DJs often playing at the beach clubs and a diverse crowd. It’s a great place for people watching. The promotion teams from the club nights parade along the coastline, where you can still score a discounted ticket for the club. Cold drinks are served not only on the beds at the beach clubs but also reach your towel. From a cold serveza to freshly made mojitos and even a thick joint, everything is available here! ;-) We personally love Beachclub Sa Trinxa for its relaxed atmosphere. Our number 1 beach club on Ibiza!

2. Cala Bassa
Cala Bassa is a beach to the west of Ibiza. When you arrive, you already enjoy an amazing view. What makes this beach so beautiful is the white sand and the crystal-clear water that turns turquoise. In the shade, under the pine trees, you’ll find Beachclub CBBC, which stands for Cala Bassa Beach Club. You can’t miss this club, as it is spread throughout the entire bay. Great for a drink, and the food is also very good, but somewhat pricey. More info CBBC
Of course, you can make Ibiza as expensive as you want. On part of the beach are the sunbeds of CBBC, but you can also, like many others, choose to lie around with a beach towel. They also walk around with coolers to provide you with a nice cold drink. At CBBC, the DJ plays the real Ibiza sound of lounge and deephouse, and all together this creates that wonderful atmosphere we all love.

3. Cala Tarida
The Cala Tarida beach is one of our personal favorites. A fine sandy beach, really nice for everyone! This bay is located in the west of Ibiza and is divided into 2 beaches. One is a bit busier than the other. The water is clear and also shallow, making it great for children as well. Definitely worth taking your snorkel and going into the sea. There are fun rock formations you can jump off, and there are several water sports options. A sunbed with parasol is still quite affordable on this beach, and there is plenty of space to lie down on the sand with your own beach towel. Forgot your towel? No problem! You can buy one from the beach vendors. Sometimes a bit annoying if you’re just relaxing quietly and get asked for the umpteenth time if you want to buy an Ibiza beach towel...

4. Cala d’Hort
Cala d’Hort is located in the southwest of Ibiza. A sandy beach overlooking the popular and mysterious rock Es Vedra, which lies just off the coast. According to the hippies, this rock contains magical powers and that is why they once settled on the island of Ibiza. Go on an adventure yourself and find out if they are right! You can sail to the rock by boat. Taking a dive with a snorkel and looking into the depths can be very special. We saw a kind of magical light and countless fish. You can also snorkel beautifully in that magical light.
In the mornings it is often busy with people who want to see Es Vedra. Later in the afternoon, the calm returns and it’s truly enjoyable.

5. Cala Vadella
Ideal for families with children is Cala Vadella. This child-friendly beach is located in the southwest of Ibiza and is very popular among the Dutch. The beach is wide and the water shallow. In the high season, there is a jellyfish net in the water, so the kids can play in the water without fear of jellyfish stings! It’s also nice for you to swim laps without worries. When you arrive by car, it reminds you a bit of the Caribbean. Azure blue water, pleasure boats, and colorful houses. This bay always has a wonderful vibe! Nice restaurants where you can sit at the table with your feet in the sand. Prices here are almost the same as in the Netherlands.

6. Cala Salada
Cala Salada is a beautiful bay in the west of Ibiza just behind the town of Sant Antonio. The bay has 2 small beaches, one of which we always call the ‘secret’ beach. This is Cala Salada. When you arrive at the beach and walk up the rocks to the right, after a walk of about 5-10 minutes you reach a small beach, accessible by a steep staircase down. On to the beautiful clear water. Here you can snorkel well and dive from the rocks. The water is so clear here that you can easily see the fish swimming. You can also sit between the boathouses if the beach is too crowded. Usually, locals sell empanadas, bocadillos (Spanish sandwiches), and mojitos, and you can see fun fashion shows by girls selling cheap Ibiza-style fashion. Great for the Ibiza vibe! The crowd here is quite young and there are no sunbeds. From June onwards, you’ll be lying towel to towel, but that makes it very cozy here!
Note, unfortunately this beach is no longer very secret during the high season; the road to this Cala is even closed off. You will then have to walk quite a way down and yes, at the end of the day, you’ll have to walk all the way back up again ;-)
7. Platges de Comte
For a stunning sunset, go to Platges de Comte. This beach is located in the west of Ibiza. It’s a nice and beautiful beach, but also very busy. Make sure to arrive here only at the end of the afternoon so you can enjoy the setting sun. Put on your favorite outfit and you’re guaranteed to take beautiful photos with a golden glow!
Our tip is to go to Sunset Ashram. Sunset Ashram is not on our Beachclub top 10, but it’s definitely worth a visit. You might even recognize it from the movie “Verliefd op Ibiza”! A restaurant carved into the rocks in an orange/red color. You can also eat here, but I find it quite expensive for what you get. The sushi is very good, but of course, you can also just go for a drink. For food, it’s best to reserve in advance, but that applies to many restaurants on Ibiza during the busy months. The view here is amazing and the sunset is truly magical. Usually, there’s a DJ playing.

8. Cala Bernirrás
A beautiful pebble beach in the north of the island. It’s quite a trip by car or scooter to get down to this bay, but it’s definitely worth it. Renting a sunbed with a parasol here is still reasonably priced and highly recommended with the pebbles. In this Cala, you’ll find 2 beach clubs, with Beachclub Elements being a standout. A lovely beach club in the true Ibiza style and very accessible to everyone. The cocktails here are good and the music is nicely relaxed. On Sundays, there’s a small hippie market with some nice clothing and jewelry stalls.
This beach is especially known for the popular Sundays, when the hippies drum and dance at sunset. The sunset on Ibiza can be amazing, and on Sundays the hippies and, of course, you as a tourist celebrate it together in a cozy way. Upbeat music creates a great atmosphere. It’s also super fun for children, and before you know it, your kids are holding samba balls or a drum, and your wife is dancing happily in the middle of the group. This last part often happens to me, see photo ;-) Just give in and go for that real Ibiza feeling! You can get drinks at the beach clubs, or just bring a bottle of wine yourself!
9. Cala Jondal
Cala Jondal is certainly not the most beautiful beach on Ibiza, but it is the most impressive cove on the island. With beach clubs like Tropicana, Jondal, and Blue Marlin, you can't miss it and it should definitely be on your Ibiza bucket list. It’s not really a beach where you lie down with your hands in the sand because of the pebbles, but here you can relax and be pampered on your rented bed at one of the popular beach bars. A day at Tropicana is definitely recommended and is very popular among the Dutch. Enjoy a delicious lunch, sip a tasty cocktail, or drift away with a relaxing massage.

10. Playa d’En Bossa
I hesitated for a long time whether this beach should be in the top 10, but with all the famous beach clubs on this beach, I couldn't ignore it. Playa d’En Bossa with its strip and all the accompanying party crowd (read: lots of drunk English people), the Ushuaia, Hardrock Hotel, and now the world's best club Hi (formerly Club Space) is the place to be for many! If you love crowds and lots of fun, this is the place to be. The wide, long sandy beach with views of Formentera and Ibiza town to the left is the mecca for indulging at beach clubs like Nassau Beach, partying at Tanit Beachclub, and enjoying fine dining at Coco Beach.
