Ibiza is known for its luxury beach clubs, where you can be wonderfully served while lying on beautiful beach beds and lounge sofas. Enjoy delicious wines, cocktails, and of course the very popular Cava Sangria on Ibiza. Most beach clubs are quite pricey, but often you are pampered completely. This list includes great beach clubs, but also a very cozy little beach bar that you probably wouldn’t find on your first or second visit to Ibiza ;-)
Here is my Top 10 (also read the low-budget tip at the bottom)
1. Sa Trinxa
On Salinas Beach you’ll find my number 1 beach club on the island; Sa Trinxa! It has a very nice relaxed vibe. You really see the most diverse crowd here, which makes it so special. In the afternoons, there’s often a DJ playing, usually the owner John himself. You can have a good meal here or just grab a drink at the bar. The beds aren’t too expensive and often a fun party breaks out, sometimes even with dancing on the beach. Our favorite drink here is definitely the Cava Sangria! And of course, you drink it straight from the pitcher! To cool off, take a dive from the ‘famous’ diving board.
At Salinas Beach, your eyes will feast on the mixed crowd walking around, but the parades with dancers promoting the club nights are also fun to watch. Buy a nice bracelet from the hippies or a cold beer from the locals serving drinks on the beach. To get to Sa Trinxa, you walk quite a bit along the beach towards the rocks. You’ll recognize it by the roof full of palm leaves.
2. Cala Bassa Beach Club (CBBC)
This beach club is located on the beach of Cala Bassa and has a luxurious look, where you can enjoy a lovely lunch under the pine trees. The beach club is spread across the entire bay and is full of bars, lounge sofas and beds, nice beach shops, and an area with beds for massages. You can also rent a bed on the beach and the service is top-notch! The menu features traditional dishes from Ibiza with beautiful fresh local products. The cocktails are definitely recommended! Cala Bassa’s beach is beautiful white and the water is crystal clear, often turning turquoise. At CBBC, the DJ plays the true Ibiza sound of lounge and deep house, creating that wonderful vibe we all love!
3. Tropicana Beach Club
This cozy and very popular beach club among Dutch people is located on the beach of Cala Jondal and definitely should not be missing from this list. It’s in the south of Ibiza, close to the airport. During your holiday on Ibiza, you should definitely let yourself be served here for a day. Beds aren’t very cheap, but it’s definitely worth it. Tropicana is the beach club where you can even get a good breakfast after a big night of clubbing. Lunch and dinner are also very good here, so a long day of relaxing or enjoying sun, beach, and sea is no problem at all! With a bit of luck, a fun salsa party might even break out on the terrace on a beautiful summer evening...
4. Chiringuito Cala Escondida
Hidden and hard to find is this nice little beach bar. Run by true Ibicencos and located near Cala Comte just before the famous Sunset Ashram. A little walk over the rocks in search of an almost hidden staircase. Enjoy a nice cerveza or Mojito with a small (vegan) bite and experience an incredibly beautiful sunset. Don’t be surprised, because many people sunbathe naked on this small beach, but everyone at the bar is dressed. Yes, that’s the freedom you still find on Ibiza!
5. Blue Marlin
Everyone has heard of it. This is the club where it’s all about seeing and being seen. This place is amazing and also known for its great parties. We especially love Sunday evenings, although it’s busy and the crowd is quite ‘popular’. From the terrace, you walk straight onto the pebble beach, which is full of huge sunbeds. Spending a day here is for the real jet set! They even have a yacht service where you can be picked up by a small boat from your boat or yacht. The chance of running into real world stars like Beyonce or Lionel Messi is real, and Dutch celebrities also regularly show up here. My tip is to come here in the evening for a fun party because spending a whole day here requires a hefty wallet.
6. Elements Ibiza Beachclub
In this beach club, you are in your ‘Element’, on the (pebble) beach of Cala Benirras, north of Ibiza. It’s quite a drive down by car to reach the beach. The view in this bay is amazing and the sunset in the summer months is magical. Elements is a very accessible beach club. An outdoor terrace full of Balinese parasols creates that true Ibiza look. This restaurant makes very tasty Mediterranean dishes with a modern twist, and you can enjoy the sunset from the terrace. Sunday evenings at Benirras are very popular. The hippies drum until the sun goes down and there is dancing on the beach. It’s a real experience!
7. Atzaró Beach
Atzaró Beach is one of the best beach clubs on Ibiza. It is located on the beach Cala Nova in the northeast of Ibiza. A wide bay with a lovely beach where you find Atzaró Beach on the rocks just behind the parking lot. There is a relaxed atmosphere here, so you can enjoy a drink during the day and a smile, and in the evening dine under an atmospheric roof until late. A beautifully decorated restaurant in Balinese style with an amazing view!
8. Coco Beach Ibiza
On the busy beach of Playa den Bossa you’ll find this nice and luxurious beach club. All the way at the back, past all the craziness of the somewhat tacky ;) beach clubs on this playa, you’ll find the peace for a day of doing absolutely nothing. Lying on your sunbed, enjoying a delicious lunch and tasty cocktails. The staff here really run themselves off their feet to make sure you enjoy that well-deserved holiday! Of course, you have to be able to handle that.
9. Chiringuito Cala Gracioneta
This newly renovated restaurant is built on different levels in the rocks just behind the bay of Sant Antoni, giving you a great view of the bay at all times. Here you just want to enjoy delicious cocktails shaken behind a nice little bar. This beach club is nestled among pine trees and tastefully decorated with lots of wood, rattan & banana plants. Eat fresh from the sea, or if you prefer grilled, that’s all possible here. This Chiringuito has an extensive but somewhat exclusive menu.
10. Low budget tip
Just go old school with a towel, beach towel, or hamam towel on the beach. A dip in the sea and sand between your toes gives you that real holiday feeling! Here you can also hear the music from the beach clubs well, and often cold drinks are simply offered to you on the beach by, among others, the local residents. These beers and mojitos taste just as good here, and with the money you save, you can simply buy a ticket for that fun party or shop a little extra at the hippie market!
